GMAI Workshop on Adobe After Effects II

The Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLDOE), presented the workshop, “Adobe After Effects II,” September 15-20, 2008 at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo.
The course was designed to provide participants with advanced instruction in the areas of effects, postproduction, advanced tools and expressions. Key aspects covered in the class include: effect control, render order, level adjustment, key chrome, alpha channel, key frame assistants, hierarchies, the track control palette, the wiggler, alignment, motion sketch, puppet tool, and one-dimensional and multidimensional expressions.
Course instruction was provided by Professor Jorge Mochón. Mochón has degrees in Photography and Audiovisual Imaging and Postproduction and Promotion. He has taught courses at a number of educational institutions, among them: Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV (EICTV – International School of Film and Television) (Cuba), Universidad Cardenal Herrera (Spain), Escuela Politécnica Superior de Gandía (Higher Polytechnic School of Gandía) (Spain) and Universitat Jaume Primer (Spain).
GMAI is dedicated to providing up-and-coming professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
GMAI regularly offers introductory, intermediate and advanced courses. It also organizes events that promote greater understanding of the media arts, such as conferences, screenings and interviews with filmmakers.
