Global Media Arts Institute Will Offer Workshop on Art Direction
New York, June 20, 2008

The Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will offer a workshop on Art Direction, July 7-11, 2008, from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The workshop is directed towards art directors; scenographers; designers; photographers; students of art direction, scenic arts and audiovisual communications; and directors of miniseries and soap operas. Key areas that will be explored in-depth include: screenplay analysis from a directing perspective and character and scene development.

Class instruction will be provided by Art Director, Mónica Monserrate Llenza.

Ms. Monserrate Llenza is a graduate of the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión in Cuba (EICTV – International School of Film and Television). She has worked extensively as a Production Designer in Puerto Rico, Miami and Spain.

The cost of the program is RD$8,500.00 per person. There is a workshop limit of 20 participants.
