The GMAI Offers Scholarships for Film Courses at New York University

The Global Media Arts Institute of FUNGLODE, in coordination with One Race Global Film Foundation and New York University Opportunity Programs, is offering five scholarships to students between the ages of 18 and 20 years of age who are interested in audiovisuals and/or television and film production.

The Global Media Arts (GMAI), an initiative of the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and its sister organization in the United States, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD), in coordination with One Race  Global Film Foundation and New York University Opportunity Programs is offering  five scholarship to students, from 18 to 20, interested in the study of audiovisuals and/or television and film production.

Those selected will take part in a 6-week internship in New York City.
To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must have an academic average above a 3.0 in the case of university students and an 80% average in the case of high school students. Applicants must also have a visa to enter the United States, speak English and be available to study during July and August of 2010.

The alliance between GMAI, One Race Global Film Foundation and New York University Opportunity Programs has provided for the training of dozens of young people over the last five years of their association and sustained joint labor.

The project forms part of GMAI initiatives which seek to train Dominican students and film industry professionals in all areas of production with the most modern techniques available.
