Students and Professionals Flock to FUNGLODE to
Participate in “Adobe Live”

The event, which ran from Saturday May 8th to Sunday
the 9th, surpassed all expectations held by organizers as hundreds of
professionals, technicians, students and teachers from the world of design,
pre-printing, editing, video post-production, web and cell phone application
developers flocked to FUNGLODE.
In
its first ever presentation in the Dominican Republic, “Adobe Live”
attracted more than 700 students and professionals from the world of design,
editing, video post-production and application developers for cell phones
and web pages.
Organized by 12 Bits Media Group, Adobe’s representative in the DR, and the
Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of the Fundación Global
Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE),
the 2-day event took place in a packed house both days at FUNGLODE’s
auditorium.
Participation of the 12 most outstanding experts in management of the
technology that has revolutionized all aspects of the design market
attracted local talent by the hundreds; attendees had first hand access to
and updates on advances in the innovative Adobe system.
Throughout
the event, topics dealt with included issues such as web development, cell
phone telephony, video and pre-printing in addition to content on technical
information and examples of coding and projects that have been built using
products from the new Adobe Creative Suite 5 platform.
Rich Internet Applications (RIA) technology that increases productivity with
the application of its solutions, was introduced and discussed.
The weekend activity allowed for graphic designers, animators, editors,
interface experts, students, teachers and audiovisual producers to share
their knowledge and experiences with the visiting lecturers who were of
various nationalities.
Adobe, a multinational company founded in December 1982, specializes in the
design and development of creative software products for computers and
multimedia. Among its best-known software is: Acrobat, After Effects,
Premiere, Encore, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator and
Photoshop.
Experts who participated in the event include Maximiliano Firtman, a
specialist in the development of applications, games and services for cell
phone technology; Marlon Ceballos, technology and Adobe applications
consultant; Jorge Mochón, post-production specialist, Adobe Community
Professional, Adobe Certified Instructor and professor at several
universities in Spain and Latin America.
Also present were Luis Sosa, an sound expert, programmer, designer, video
editor and instructor with more than 10 years experience and Henry Wilbert
Rosario, a developer of web and desktop applications using NET technology,
Adobe Flex.
