GMAI and 12 Bits Media Group Join in Organizing the First Adobe Live Meeting in the Dominican Republic

The event, to be held on May 8-9, will be attended by professionals, technicians, students and teachers from the world of design, pre-printing, editing, video post-production and development of cell phone apps and web pages, all with the idea of contributing to the creation of relevant and significant lines of work.

For the first time ever, the renowned international event “Adobe Live,” will be held in the Dominican Republic this Saturday May 8-9 at FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo. The event is being organized by 12 Bits Media Group, which represents Adobe in the DR, and the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an initiative of the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE).

The meeting, which will take place on both days from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, will feature the participation of 12 skilled experts in the management of technology that has revolutionized numerous aspects of the design market.

Topics to be covered at the meeting include development for the Web, mobile telephony, video and pre-printing in addition to technical information and examples of codes and projects that been built using products from the new Adobe Creative Suite 5 platform.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about RIA (Rich Internet Applications) technology which increases productivity with the application of its solutions.

“Adobe Live” is being organized by 12 Bits Media Group, Adobe’s representative in the DR, and the GMAI whose main area of work is audiovisual production.

This event will bring together local and international specialists in design, pre-printing, editing, and video post-production and developing apps for cell phones with the idea of contributing to the creation of relevant and significant lines of work.

It has been organized so that graphic designers, animators, editors, interface experts, students, teachers, audiovisual producers, among others, will be able to share their knowledge and experiences with those who attend the conferences from different countries.

Adobe, a multinational company founded in December 1982, specializes in the design and development of creative software products for computers and multimedia.

Among its best-known software is: Acrobat, After Effects, Premiere, Encore, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash Professional, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Participating lecturers:

Important lecturers of international renown will be participating in the conference and they are:

MAXIMILIANO FIRTMAN, specialist in developing applications, games and services for mobile technology. He is the director of an official Adobe User Group in Argentina and is the director/founder of ITMaster Professional Training having created the first generation in mobile technology development.

MARLON CEBALLOS, Adobe technology and applications lecturer and consultant since the age of fifteen. Currently, he directs Xpert, an official Adobe training center. He is an Adobe Certified Expert and Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Flash land Dreamweaver (latest versions).

ILKA MIRIAM VALDES CARRILLO, is a 2009 graduate of the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, in the area of editing. She now works at the film and TV school in the Post-Production Department. In 2007, she edited Enrique Pineda Barnet’s documentary, “El Charenton del Buendía,” and was awarded the National Editing Prize from the National Movement of Cuban Video.

JORGE MOCHON, is a specialist in post-production and Adobe Community Professional, an Adobe Certified Instructor and a professor at different universities, televisions and institutions. He holds a Post Graduate degree in Post-Production from the Universidad Politécnica of Valencia. He directed the post-production of the film, “Enigma del chico croqueta” by Pablo Llorens who won a Goya in 2005 for best animated short picture. He is an Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe After Effects, since 2001; Instructor of Premiere and After Effects, since 2005; Apple Certified Trainer and Adobe Community since 2009.

RODRIGO DUARTE CAZAR is currently the Development Director for XML Ideas (www.xml.cl), where he develops applications in Flash, Flex and AIR. He is also an instructor and academic coordinator for the Computer Training Center, an authorized Adobe Center. He has Adobe certification in: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign CS3,Flash, Dreamweaver and Acrobat. In addition, he is co-manager of MMUG.CL, AUG for Chile and one of the largest virtual communities in Latin America.

MARIANA CABRAL FERNANDEZ DE CASTRO, holds a degree in Design for Graphic Communication, Multimedia and Animation; a Masters Degree in Creation and Multimedia Production and is a specialist in Creative Suite, from the third version. She studied for a Masters in Information Society and Knowledge. She has worked for companies such as Bishö Design+Multimedia and the Mexican Editorial Organization. She is currently the video manager of video2brain Mexico, the Latin American chapter of this video-training company, which is number one in Europe. She is also an instructor of various AATC (Authorized Adobe Training Courses) and a specialist consultant in CS5 for Adobe Mexico.

MICHAEL BORBOR, is a graduate of the School of Computation and Information of the Universidad Agraria of Ecuador. He is a Freelance Developer of ColdFusion and Flex. He is also interested in data mining, data visualization and is an Adobe User Group Manager.

EDGAR PARADA, is an Adobe Community Professional and an Adobe Certified Instructor and consultant of Adobe in Mexico. He has collaborated in various training centers and the General Management of Academic Computer Services of UNAM. For the past three years he has been directing Activ, an Adobe Authorized Training Center specializing in technology such as Flex, Flash, Dreamweaver, among others. He is a member of the first group of Spanish-language users focused on Flex: MadeInFlex. He is also a manager of RIActive, the official users group Flex and other RIA technology of Adobe in Mexico.

LUIS SOSA, is an expert in sound, a programmer, designer, video editor and instructor with more than 10 years experience. He is certified by Comptia as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) by Adobe as an expert in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects and an expert in Audition. He is also the first Adobe Certified Video Specialist of the Dominican Republic.

HENRY WILBERT ROSARIO ALCANTARA has over three years experience in the development of web and desktop applications using NET technology, Adobe Flex. He is highly motivated with the latest technology, rapid adaptation and facility for teamwork. He also works with various communities dedicated to teaching and learning RIA applications.
