Documentary Film Making Workshop Ends with Positive Feedback

The documentary film workshops recently ended on a positive note after 19 students and film industry professionals spent a week together in the the installations of the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE).

FUNGLODE Executive Director, Marco Herrera and Omar De La Cruz , Director of the Audiovisuals Department, handed out certificates to the enthusiastic students who participated in the workshops.

Professor Rolando Almirante Castillo, a highly experienced scriptwriter and producer, showed a series of important documentaries used as learning tools by the students who carried out detailed analysis of each one of the films.

The documentaries they studied included “Nanook of the North” and the “Fourth World War.”

In addition to the classes, Rolando Almirante Castillo shared his experiences in the world of writing and producing. He explained the basic and necessary requirements for writing a successful documentary film script.
The workshop served as an opportunity for students to demonstrate their own topics and project ideas and discussed how to bring them to fruition and make them useful in the film industry.

Students who participated in this cycle of classes had the highest praise for the workshop saying that its success was due to the vast experience of the professor and his knowledge of the topics offered.

With this cycle of conferences, the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), in coordination with the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de los Baños, (EICTV in Spanish), seeks to inspire and educate emerging artists and film industry professionals through training and educational programs.
