GMAI Will Offer Editing and Digital Video
Post-Production Course "Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe After Effects CS4"

From April 11 to May 11, the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI)
and the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) of San Antonio de
los Baños, will be offering an editing course called “Editing and
Post-Production of Digital Video- Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe After Effects
CS4,” to be held at FUNGLODE headquarters in Santo Domingo.
“Final Cut Pro 7 and Adobe After Effects CS4,” a month-long course, will
offer an introduction to the fundamentals of basic film editing including
techniques such as superimposition and composition; the use of special
effects; titling and audio; and how to render and export the final product.
Students will also learn how to create digital video using Adobe After
Effects and how to work with transparencies, among other skills.
The workshop will be given by Jorge Mochon, Associate Professor of
Audiovisual Communications at the Escuela Politecnica de Gandia in Spain,
where he teaches “Mounting and Editing.” A digital video consultant for SGAE/
Fundación Autor (General Society for Authors and Editors), Mochon also
specializes in NLE with Avid, Adobe After Effects Post-Production for all of
Spain and is a certified instructor in post production and promotion of 95,
having studied at IFP.
GMAI, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD)
and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is dedicated to
providing professionals in the television and film industry with
comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as
part of its overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the
Dominican Republic. The Institute seeks to play a key role in the
development of a highly qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that
significantly contributes to the economic development, competitiveness and
modernization of the nation.
The GMAI places special emphasis on film and television and
carries out its training programs both on site as well as online (in
coordination with Univirtual Global Dominicana).
