Night of Dominican Shorts at FUNGLODE
New York, August 17, 2009
On Saturday, August 29, 2009, the Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), an
initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD)
and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE),
will present an evening of Dominican shorts produced by Dominican students
at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV) in San Antonio de los
Baños, Cuba during the 2008-2009 academic year. The evening will conclude
with a conversatorium featuring EICTV Director Tanya Valette and students
from the prestigious school. The program will take place 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
at FUNGLODE Headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

GMAI, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD)
and its sister institute in the Dominican Republic, Fundación Global
Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is dedicated to providing up-and-coming
professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive
instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its
overall mission to expand the multimedia industry of the Dominican Republic.
The Institute seeks to play a key role in the development of a highly
qualified Dominican audiovisual industry that significantly contributes to
the economic development, competitiveness and modernization of the nation.
