Global Media Arts Offers Scholarships to Study Film at NYU
New York City, now until March 31, 2008
GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), in collaboration with New York University’s Opportunity Programs and One Race Films, is offering five scholarships to students between the ages of 18 and 20, interested in the audiovisual arts and television and film production.
Selected students will take six week-long film courses at New York University, from July 9 – August 19, 2008. Scholarship recipients must meet the 3.0 grade point average requirement, posses a valid US visa and have a strong command of English.
Global Media Arts Institute Offers Scholarships to Study Film in Cuba San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, now until March 31, 2008
GFDD and FUNGLODE’s Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI), in collaboration with the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV – International School for Television and Film) in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, will award three scholarships to Dominican students between the ages of 22 and 28, to take courses at EICTV for a period of three years (2008-2011), in the areas of Direction, Production, Scriptwriting, Documentary Film, Photography, Sound and Editing.
A National Evaluation Committee comprised of Dominican filmmakers, sociologists, film critics and creators of art and culture will select scholarship recipients based on their artistic ability and creative potential, in addition to previous work experience. The last day to apply for scholarships is March 31, 2008.
Recipients will be chosen Friday, April 25, 2008. The scholarships cover registration and course fees.
